ARACHNE

The goal of the project is to develop the character through the entire production pipeline, from the initial sculpting and modeling stages to realistic texturing, grooming, and final look development. I am currently working on the project in my free time, between professional assignments, taking the opportunity to explore both artistic and technical aspects of character creation.

The Myth of Arachne
In Greek mythology, Arachne was a young woman renowned for her extraordinary talent as a weaver. Her skill was said to be so remarkable that she eventually challenged Athena, goddess of wisdom and crafts, to a weaving contest.
Arachne created a tapestry of exceptional beauty, displaying such mastery that even Athena could not deny her talent. Enraged by Arachne's pride and by the subject of her work, Athena punished her. According to the myth, Arachne was eventually transformed into a spider, condemned to weave for eternity.
I have always been fascinated by Greek mythology, and Arachne's story immediately caught my attention. The combination of beauty, talent, pride, tragedy, and transformation gave me the opportunity to imagine my own interpretation of the character and translate those elements into a 3D design.

Shape, Pose & Next Steps
During the modeling stage, I paid particular attention to the overall shape language, anatomy, silhouette, and pose of the character. My goal was to create a strong and recognizable figure while maintaining a believable anatomical structure and a sense of elegance that reflects her mythological origins.

In the next stages of the project, I plan to develop a realistic texturing treatment, followed by detailed grooming and look development, with particular attention to materials, skin, hair, fabrics, and the final presentation of the character.
